Missions

"The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send
out workers into His harvest field."

- Jesus Christ (Luke 10:2)

Our Objective
To mobilize the church for world evangelism through prayer, education,
giving, and involvement.

Prayer:
The success of a missionary relies heavily on prayer.
To focus prayer on specific mission needs for the week, a "Seven Days
of Prayer" list is included in the Sunday Worship Folder.

Education:
The congregation learns about missions through deputation services,
monthly "mission moments" in the evening service. Children's church
features missions one Sunday each month. Reading the yearly adult
and children's missionary books published by the Church of the Nazarene
is also encouraged.

Giving:
Some of the ways funds for mission outreach are raised.
Alabaster
This offering is taken twice a year, all giving (100%) goes to buying
property and building churches and schools around the world, no
administrative costs are taken out.

LEVEL (Laymen Engaged in Various Evangelistic Labors)
The monies raised are divided between an overseas mission project
and a home mission project on our Northwestern Illinois District.

Nickel Offering
One month during the year, the children raise money for a mission related
project by filling rulers with nickels.

World Evangelism Fund
Especially emphasized at Easter and Thanksgiving, this fund provides the
salary for our missionaries, Bible colleges, seminaries, medical facilities and more.

Involvement:
The
Agape Chapter  specializes in box-work. They sort and pack many
boxes of clothing, medical supplies and Sunday School supplies each year.

The Dorcas Chapter is responsible for keeping in touch with our LINKS
missionary family. They also wrap shoe boxes in preparation for Operation
Christmas Child.
